Kelly Phipps Maieritsch, PhD

Founder KPM Clinical and Consultation Services

Chief Education and Community Development Officer, Nellie Health

A Bit About Me

Early in graduate school I gravitated towards working with trauma after learning about the incredible resilience of people and discovering that there are treatments that can truly provide relief and hope.

Over the course of my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing many different types of trauma, with a significant focus on serving Veterans, many of whom have faced extensive traumatic experiences.  My journey began with direct work with clients and naturally evolved into supporting organizations to ensure that these individuals have access to effective, evidence-based care.

While much of my experience has been within a large government healthcare system, I am deeply committed to helping providers in the community and across organizations access the training and support they need to deliver the highest quality mental health care.

My clinical work focuses on trauma-related disorders, anxiety, and stress, offering both standard weekly and accelerated (three or more sessions per week) treatment models to meet clients’ unique needs. Beyond direct clinical work, I partner with organizations to drive change through strategic consultation on program evaluation, organizational design, and change management initiatives.

I define and oversee our educational vision, creating scalable, evidence-informed learning opportunities that enhance provider practice and client outcomes.  I cultivate a vibrant, collaborative network of mental health professionals, fostering connection, consultation, and cross-disciplinary innovation.

National Center for PTSD

As Director of the PTSD Mentoring and Implementation Program, I led a network of specialty PTSD clinical team directors and specialists across all 18 Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs), serving as a key liaison to VA Central Office on policy and implementation initiatives. In this role, I advanced health care quality by designing and delivering implementation strategies, including development of data-driven audit and feedback systems to improve practice. I provided nationwide consultation to VA Medical Center leadership and clinicians on evidence-based PTSD treatments, best administrative practices, measurement-based care, and change management. I also created and launched innovative programs and initiatives to address emerging needs and drive meaningful, system-level improvements.
